Fellow Woman of Geekdom, Chloe Dykstra, had something to say on what happened in the last episode of Heroes of Cosplay. I know reality TV can skew a lot out of proportion, and often times they do. In reference to the cattiness that happened in the last episode of Heroes of Cosplay, all I can say is that I’ve looked at both sides and I’m just sad people have to turn on each other like this. It’s especially disheartening when it’s centered around a hobby/culture we all love. It further solidifies the concerns some people feel about dressing up at all, let alone subject themselves to ridicule from not only complete strangers, but from fellow enthusiasts who share the same passion and interests. But I guess it really does happen everywhere we go, and we just have to remember to be the bigger person and let the whiners have it out.
I applaud Holly, Jessica, and Chloe for trying to instill the idea of inclusion within the geek and cosplay community because that truly is what we all are about at the end of the day. Or should be, at least.
Also, you don’t make another person cry. When that happens, you just lost, my friend.
